Gradually, these nodes together and become thicker, forming a “shell” that surrounds the lungs and spreads into the recesses or grooves of the pleura and diaphragm. The tumor spreads by direct invasion of surrounding tissue, the internal compression of the lungs and invade outside of the chest wall and ribs.

The most common symptom for pleural mesothelioma patient’s chest pain. But the pain is often not directly related to the pleura, lung, and often appears in the shoulder or upper abdomen. Shortness of breath, known as shortness of breath, is also a symptom. Cough, weight loss and anorexia are present in some patients, but are less frequent. Today, the procedure of choice is the tank (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery) procedure, which has a diagnostic accuracy of over 95%, and allows drainage and pleurodesis pleural fluid. VATS, but also ensures adequate tissue to make a definitive diagnosis.

Based on a number of factors, several treatment options may be available, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy (or a combination of all three, as trimodal therapy) refers to clinical trials, gene therapy, immunotherapy, etc. Once the diagnosis is reached, it will be important that all options will be examined by competent physicians, patients and their families. Although pleural mesothelioma remains a difficult cancer, awareness of the disease, new treatment regimens and better diagnosis and effective treatment to help improve their prospects.
